Do you control your thoughts or do your thoughts control you?

Throughout the duration of lockdown I have been reading and studying for my own personal development. What exactly is personal development? We studied it in school, but at such a young age I know I personally didn't value developing myself as I didn't understand quite what that meant. I think the things I have been learning and researching should be taught in schools as frankly there would a lot less hate and pain in the world for it. But, it must be taught by someone that is passionate about self-help and development and not simply the RE or English teacher that has some free classes in their diary.    That being said, it is never too late to discover yourself and work on you. Before now, I have always thought that living my best life and working on myself equalled going to the gym 5 days a week, or doing my fake tan and nails to feel better about myself. Yes, these are coping mechanisms and they definitely boost serotonin levels in your brain, making you feel better as a

Finding happiness amidst chaos...

Image
Throughout these past few weeks in lockdown I have put myself on a journey to make me happy. I have realised that whilst everything around me changes, I have become somewhat unhappy like a lot of others at the minute I presume. I have realised that you can’t depend on other things to make you happy. People, jobs, objects, the things that were making me happy before have been taken away from me, or else they no longer are meeting my requirements to make me happy. With any problem, comes a solution, so I have been researching and looking for solutions that will make me happy. Not through, people, my job or my belongings, as I simply can’t control or change these things, but inside me. (Cringe I know, but it’s only going to get worse if you continue to read on so I suggest that you leave now if the thought of people finding inner happiness gives you the ick and I wish you well.) Disclaimer over, now I will just get right to it and give you the solutions that have been working for me ove

London Living

There is nothing anyone can say or do to prepare you for moving country- even if it is 'only a 45min flight', it's still not home . My approach, to pretend it wasn't happening for months on end, was quite a success until two days prior to moving. Being the most unorganised person ever, I used moving as an excuse to try to change my disorderly ways and get my shit together. As a result, I began to pack just over a week before (yes, this is organisation to me). I honestly must have washed and rewashed every item of clothing I owned and listened to every podcast I could think of, in order to procrastinate and keep myself busy, therefore to avoid the thoughts of moving. Don't get me wrong, I have wanted to move to London ever since I first visited at 13yrs old, in which I made a vow to myself that I would save £1 a week so that I could move to London when I was 'older'. I guess I can only say that I am now seriously regretting the lack of commitment to my pre

Tanning Tuesdays- Lusso Self Tan Lotion

Image
So, this month prior to their first year anniversary ' Lusso Tan ' have been kind enough to gift their self tan to local bloggers to try out. I was one of the lucky bloggers that was sent the tan and I couldn't be happier, as fake tan is obvs the best gift someone could send me. I had been itching to try Lusso Tan since I heard about it last year when it was launched in medicare stores, so when it arrived last week I couldn't wait to lather it on and get tango'd. I had been scrubbing off my tan for days in hope to catch a natural tan from this surprising sun we have been having here in NI, but sadly when I still resembled casper the friendly ghost at the end of the week, the Lusso package could not have been more appropriately timed. Lusso Self Tan Face and Body Lotion This package contained the tanning product itself, paired with the double-sided velvet mitt which I used when applying to allow for an accurate review. The tan comes in three shades a

Tanning Tuesdays- Iconic Bronze Luxury Tanning Lotion

When I heard that I was getting sent a tanning product to try out I was completely over the moon. One of the first things that I’ve been sent and something I genuinely will use! I was slightly clueless and had no idea which brand I was receiving a tan from- all I knew was my chosen shade (obvs dark). I eagerly waited for the goods to arrive, only to come home 2 weeks later to one of those nasty little “Sorry we couldn’t deliver your parcel” cards from the postman. So, with a further delay over the weekend I was getting more excited and equally more impatient to finally be BRONZE.  ICONIC BRONZE LUXURY TANNING LOTION The gorgeous parcel I received consisted of the three products above.  1.)  Dark Tanning Lotion,  2.)  Self Tan Eraser and (last but most certainly not least)  3.)  Luxury Double Sided Tanning Mitt. I really couldn’t have asked for anything more, making it the perfect package. In this review I will talk about the tan only but having used the double sided

Tanning Tuesdays- St. Moriz Professional Tanning Mousse (Dark)

Reminiscing on my early teens, there are a few distinct commodities that were vital to my existence: 1). My BlackBerry (miss you BBM) and 2). St. Moriz fake tan. Much to my mothers dismay I would lather this precious product all over prior to that months Clubland on a Friday, ruining my clothes, sheets and towels (see below for proof).  Luckily, over the years times have changed and I have started to take more care when applying tan (or have atleast learned how to do my own washing).  I had quite a love/hate relationship with this product. To be honest, I used it because its what everyone else used and it was cheap. Now that I earn my own dolla and don’t have to rely on ‘bank of mum’, I can prioritise my wages on buying whichever tan I please. Yet this month I’ve decided to go back to buying the cheap stuff after all these years. Why? Because I feel it deserves a second chance. Nothing to do with the fact I’m trying/struggling to pay off a hol or anything... ST. MORIZ

Tanning Tuesdays- Solait Express Tan Dark

Image
Following my previous review of the revolutionary Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Tan, I have chosen to review a tan that I have never before used. I chose the Solait Express Tan (Dark) as the next on my list of self tanning products to review after a lengthy period of ‘research’. This month I wanted to try a product that was cheap and cheerful, as I normally tend to opt for pricier tans because I feel they are more often than not, worth the spend. I am skeptical of cheap tans as I have had my fair share of the classic ‘Ross from friends look’ in which I resemble an Oompa Loompa, or sometimes I generally looked like I’ve been rolled in muck. So, with this Superdrug own brand product, I guessed it was worth a try and that I had nothing to lose really. If you have read my previous tanning review, you will know my standard application process. Shave and exfoliate in the shower, moisturise dry areas and then sit tight for an hour or so. Then, applying the tan with a mitt (as needed) and patting
